the problem with the greddy turbo is it's only oil cooled, and it has journal bearings. So most people will find the turbo needing to be rebuilt once a year. The turbo upgrade is a real garrett custom built gt3071r. It'll be good for about 380 whp.
In a local shop they have all the necessary parts for a Squire Turbo System, to be installed on an RX8. The guy that bought it and was going to have it put on the car totaled his 8 before it could be put on. The remote turbo system is for sale at a bargain price. How well do you think this would work on an RX8 as a cheaper alternative tot he Greddy kit?

There's a guy in FL who made a remote turbo himself. He seemed to be quite happy with it, but he blew his engine twice and I haven't heard from him since.
I kinda doubt the engine issues are a result from turbo placement, so ... I'd say go for it, especially if you think it's going to be cheaper than the already cheap, greddy kit.
