The RX-8 has low profile tires. Low profile tires will pick up and find grooves and ruts in the road (even if they are not visible to your eyes). The result will be a slight pull towards one side of the road or the other on SOME roads. The term for this is called tramlining. This is normal and not unique to the RX-8. Any vehicle will have this to some degree or another.
What might makes the RX-8 more prone to exhibiting this behavior is the direct drive steering. The RX-8 does not have a conventional power steering - it has electric assisted power steering.
All of which, are good things. You're getting feedback from your car, enough to tell you what's happening on the road. |
