I have a partial top mount mazsport kit I have been assembling. This can be either a type 1 (manifold mounted) or type 3 (top mount) kit as all the components are the same. The type 3 will require about 2 more pipes to be made than the type 1, and some additional routing of coolant hoses.

All the parts are brand new. This includes:

Quote:
- Mazsport turbo manifold (ceramic coated)
- Authentic 44mm Tial external wastegate
- T67 turbo? (ceramic coated). Because Mazsport is so secretive, I'm not sure if it's garret or what..
- Several of the turbo pipes (ceramic coated)
- Mazsport engine mounts. Without these you cannot install the kit as there won't be space.
- Silicon vacuum hoses
- Several couplers (maybe all of the required couplers?)

To make it a complete kit, you would need to buy some oil lines, coolant lines, misc bolts, and you would need somewhere in the neighborhood of ~6 pipes fabricated to link the components together. The difficult parts to make (mainly manifold and mounts) are all here, so it's relatively minor to make the remaining items. I spoke to Bodley Racing in Largo, and in Dec 2008 they quoted me $500 to make the missing pipes. Bodley as you may already know, is the company Mazsport contracted out the actual work to. They're the ones who made the piping for the mazsport kits. Unfortunately they would need your car to fit the piping. If you're in the Tampa area, they can finish it, or you could get the work done locally.

I would estimate $500 for the pipes, and $500 for miscellaneous parts like the oil lines, and bolts that are missing. I might be over estimating the cost, or under estimating it.

Given that this is all brand new completely unused, I think it's the only unused mazsport kit available. Unfortunately because it is missing some of the pipes it isn't 100% plug and play.

Due to the engine rebuild (see my sig link for details) and Scott taking my Mazsport fuel pump "for investigation" then vanishing with it, I've lost in the neighborhood of $6,000 with nothing to show for it. I was planning on completing this kit in Feb, but I've decided to sell my car (see sig for partout and Rx-8 FS threads), so this won't be needed.

I'm asking for $3100 shipped. Given that there will be no more of these, and that everything is new and the good stuff ceramic coated, I think it's a good price.

Now lets look at the wastegate. I asked Tial to build me a wastegate with the softest spring they make - a 0.2 bar (~3 psi). Remember, you can always use a boost controller to increase boost, but you can't go below your wastegate spring. So I wanted it as low as possible.

Also this is an authentic Tial. Not a knockoff. You never want to play around with a wastegate. If they fail, you won't like the results.

During my research, I found a lot of photos and pics that I don't think were ever posted on the forum. I'm going to go over a few things...

First off, if you look at the position of the turbo, it's right next to the ECU box. I don't think there is a good reason for this. I was going to rotate the turbo so that it sits more like esmeril or SFR's setup. But I don't want it at an angle nor do I want the turbo right next to the engine/pulley/belts. So I was going to position it more centrally situated in the engine bay.

Secondly I don't like that the piping just circles back for no apparent reason. I was going to setup the piping more logically.

Here's a picture of how the exhaust is setup. My plan was to not include this part, and just vent the WG to atmosphere. It'd save a little bit of $$ and if I got tired of the noise, I could always route it back to the exhaust later or add a silencer to the end of the wg...

Manifold mounted.

Here's the SFR layout that I was going to slightly modify.. I wanted the turbo further away from the belts and engine. Then I was going to use my AEM CAI for the piping

Esmeril setup? Just looking at what other's have done.

Let's not forget Dan's toy..

What is the advantage of this turbo system over the Greddy?

two main advantages:

1. water cooled. so you don't need to worry about journal bearings wearing out once a year forcing you to pull the turbo off your car to be rebuilt.

2. about 100 whp higher power gains. GReddy typically peaks at 280 whp. This can hit 400 whp (if you also buy ignition coils and fuel injectors)

This is like buying the Greddy kit without having by upgrade the weak Greddy turbo for the water cooled GT3071, not to mention the higher max power output. Do you still have this and do you ship to Canada?
