The RX-8 factory rear mirror usually gets in the way when trying to make a right-hand turn. The mirror really is a safety hazard. Many people are unaware that the mirror is in fact double hinged.

Even after explaining that it's double hinged, many people I've spoken with still don't understand how that applies to the situation. To better explain, I've made an animated gif:

As you can see, there are two ball joints, one that lets you adjust the mirror's angle, the other that lets you actually move the mirror - including up and out of your way!
