How much power you can get from your RX-8 largely depends on the size of your wallet.

As you've likely already seen, the GReddy turbo kit for the RX-8 will give you roughly a 80-100 whp gain for ~$5,000. At the time of this writing, Mazsport released some details about three RX-8 FI kits at SS9 (Seven stock) a few days ago. Mazsport's kits run $8,000 - $10,000 (Plus install costs) and have shown 350 whp, with possible gains into 400 whp range with ignition upgrades.

If you really want power, you can always go for a 20B swap, but that's easily three times more than the most costly turbo kit available for the RX-8 today. With a 20B and a turbo, you'll see numbers >600 whp.

If turbochargers aren't your thing, there are several supercharger kits on the way, but all appear to be making similar numbers to the GReddy turbo kit, 80 - 100 whp gains.

Great article! But to complement it you could add how much HP can one expect on N/A using midpipes, canzoomer, intakes and the such.
